Options to backup data from 8.2.2 to 7.3.3 filer

Hi,

I am looking for possible solutions to backup a volume from new filer running data ontap 8.3.3 in cluster-mode to an old filer with OS version 7.3.3

Guessing snap mirror is not an option since the source and destination filers should have same O.S versions.

Is Snap vault an option ? Any other suggestions ?

"Note: SnapVault behavior is independent of the Data ONTAP version that is installed on the primary or secondary system, and the aggregate type. For example, you can back up data from a primary system that has Data ONTAP 7.3 installed to a secondary system that has Data ONTAP 7.1 installed. You can also back up data from a primary system that has Data ONTAP 7.1 installed to a secondary system that has Data ONTAP 7.3 installed."
