I'm afraid you can't do this. The easiest way is to create an SVM on your old domain, transition the data then Snapmirror to SVM on new domain.

Running 7mtt 2.1.

We have the source 7-mode system in one domain, and we are transitioning to CDOT which resides in a different, trusted, domain.

Is there a way we can use 7mtt across two different domains?

We had a similar issue but you can "cifs modify -domain" later...you can't change the netbios name but you can join the same domain for the 7MTT migration...then after cutover... "cifs domain modify" and change the domain and it will recreate the same AD computer object in the new domain.

when modifying the domain, do you lose your existing shares? Do you have to re-create them?

Thank you in advance
