Upgrade FAS2246 DATA ONTAP

Hello

I'm newer to this. Could you please help me where can I find software DATA ONTAP to make upgrade to the highest version on FAS 2246? If I am working as service engineer in company can I get this software for free? Could you also show me some instruction how could I do this step by step?

I'm not familiar with a FAS 2246.

What version is the filer and what version of ontap.

My fault it is not FAS, it is DS2256 with DATA ONTAP 8.2.1 7-MODE. Sorry for mistake

Nope that's wrong again.. You probably mean 2552 or 2554.

The easiest way to upgrade 7-mode is to log into now.netapp.com and run an upgrade advisor, It will tell you all the steps you need to do

DS2246 it's disk shelf, not a storage controller 🙂

Your shelf connected to a storage controller, and you need to find controller model, not shelf.

But disk shelf is connected to nothing. I receive it from my customer just to upgrade it 🙂
