      <description>&lt;P&gt;Hi Guys,&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I have netapp FAS 3220 it has ontap 8.1.4P1 7 mode. Now I am planning to upgrade to 8.3.2 CDOT. Below is the my queries Please help.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;1. It has single controller so&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;is it required &amp;nbsp;cluster switch&amp;nbsp;?&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;2. Cabling need to be change? We have NetApp DS4243 Disk shelf and single controller&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;3.&amp;nbsp;We can directly upgrade from 8.1.4 7 mode to 8.3.3 cluster mode?&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;4. If I upgrade to cluster on tap OS from 7 mode all data in volumes erase?&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Please guide me.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Thanks&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;You cannot upgrade 7-Mode to C-Mode. You need to wipe clean and reinstall in C-Mode. Existing data is lost. If you want to preseve it, you need to migrate data to another C-Mode filer or backup and restore.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Single node cluster does not need cluster switch. Disk shelf&amp;nbsp;attachment is the same in C-Mode as in 7-Mode.&lt;/P&gt;</description>
