I have one FAS2554(Data Ontap 8.3.1) and AFF8040(Data Ontap 9.1) at site A and would like to snapvault to an FAS2254(Ontap 9.1) at site B. It should be OK, but I wonder if it can revert the direction from site B back to site A without upgrade FAS2554 (Data Ontap 8.3.1) . I cannot find the peering requiement from the Ontap 9 document. Please help~

Hi

Did you do the peering and accepted it on the other site?

If you use SnapMirror XDP (aka SnapVault or Version Flexible Replication) you should be able to reverse the SnapMirror relationship:

http://community.netapp.com/t5/Technology/Clustered-Data-ONTAP-8-3-amp-SnapMirror-and-SnapVault/ba-p/97628
