Hi there,

When I am logged in as a domain administrator from a pc that is joined to the domain and entered the following below:

All my volumes are shown.

\\mynetapp\c$

vol1

vol2

vol3

1) On the security tab (NTFS), what do you guys set at? I would disable the inheritance and add domain admins for full acces and remove "Everyone" that is already grayed out I then use robocopy to migrate my data over from my old nas.

2) On the 'Previous Versions' tab of a volume, do you guys hide it? If so, can this be done at the NetApp's end on the volume level?

SVHO

1) you would set permissions to whatever meets your requirements. you might also use robocopy to copy existing permissions along if you are importing data from another server

2) you can turn "Previous Versions" off if you desire by setting the volume option -snapdir-access to FALSE
