Changing the SnapMirror source to a new volume

We are about to create a new volume and migrate our existing VMs to it. The current volume has a SnapMirror relationship that will need to be recreated before we delete the old volume. I found the following guide about the topic, but it is written assuming you are moving the volume to a different device. This should still be relevent even if you are keeping the new volume on the same device correct?

I think what I really need to know is if you can permanently change the source volume of a snapmirror without editing the snapmirror.conf file.

If you are using built in scheduler - no, you cannot.
