If you ever inserted a SAS disk in the shelf, you might run into this bug:

We have a disk shelf DS4243 with 23 7200 RPM disk. We are receiving multiple errors related to power supply. We have installed 2 PSUs in the disk shelf. The error is :- Not enough power supplies are present in channel XX disk shelf XX to satisfy disk drive and shelf power requirements.

I am unable to find any document or recommendation from NetApp related to the number of PSUs required to support 23 disk of 7200 RPM in a shelf.

I'd open a case to review your logs. It may be two or four depending on documentation, but it should be 1 and 4.

I'd check the DS4243 documentation.
