How to securely wipe out netapp using OnCommand System Manager Version 3.1.1

Dear Community,

I am inheriting a really old Netapp system.

OnCommand System Manager: 3.1.1

I would like to securely wipe out the disk. I have googled and I think "disk sanitize" function is the one I am looking for.

However, is there any step by step to execute this command?

I cant seem to be able to find a step by step guide.

Any help would be appreciated.

You will have to do it via the command line and likely need to install a free licence

For Data ONTAP 8.0 and earlier, the disk sanitization feature needed a disk sanitization license. These licenses can be found under Master License keys in the Support site.

For Data ONTAP 8.1 and later, enter the following command to enable the disk sanitization feature:

node> options licensed_feature.disk_sanitization.enable on
