Migrating CIFS data from 7 Mode 8020 to Cluster 8200 Series with exisiting CIFS Configuration

Hi,

We are planning to migrate CIFS Data from 8020 7 Mode to 8200 Cluster. with same cifs server name and IP

Please suggest should we create the CIFS server with duplicate name and different IP in Target or 7MTT will create the CIFS configuration in the Target during cut over.

can we use the same Interface which is serving cifs data for Migration or any specific port to be configured.

Using copy based transition the ip address can be migrated to the new lifs. From the documentation page

For example, a 7-Mode volume should be mapped to an SVM and a volume in ONTAP and an IP address that will be transitioned should be mapped to LIFs.
