Looks like the VOLUME view lists as the name suggests, volumes. The INTERNAL VOLUME view displays the underlying luns.

I am trying to get a comprehensive list of storage on my 7-mode array using OCI. My question is.... what's the difference between the VOLUME and INTERNAL VOLUME views within OCI?

Internal volume = FlexVol. Volume = LUN. Kind of backwards I know.

Volume in OCI-speak is a block device - "LUN" in Ontap-speak, "Volume" in SMI-S-speak, etc.

Internal Volume in OCI-speak is generally found on NAS-capable platforms - 7 mode Flex + traditional Volume, VNX File "file systems, etc
