About the alert of DualControllerHa_Policy

There were one of the NetApp was upgraded to ONTAP 9.8, after upgraded there were random trigger this alert, if I disable this policy thought command “system health policy definition modify -monitor system-connect -policy-id DualControllerHa_Policy -node <node> -enable false”, is that will disable the alert when trigger the real alert? EMS log as below:

The things we want to know is if we disable DualControllerHa_Alert, when there was some problem about connection from controller to shelf, the alert will still can be trigger out or not?

Hi,

It will disable that alert, no matter it is a false positive or a real one.

You could go to 9.8P7, where it is fixed.

thanks for your reply, I just wanna know. If i disable this policy in this time, there have some connection problem between shelf and controller. The connection alert will be disable also or not?

these are the options as of now: 9.8P7, 9.9.1P2, 9.9.1P3

disabling the alert is just a workaround if the alert is annoying you while you cannot perform the upgrade...
