From ONTAP NetApp without Volume Encryption (nodar) to version with Volume Encryption

Hi,

I have some FAS2554 with 9.5 that I need to upgrade to ONTAP 9.7. I don't know why but I have always installed ONTAP without Volume Encryption (nodar file).

Now I need Volume Encryption because new FAS2720 have it and I would like to use on all FAS.

On FAS2554 can I just upgrade ONTAP version with Volume Encryption using the right file?

So the upgrade put for FAS2554 will be:

9.5P19 nodar to 9.7P18 standard (with NetApp Volume Encryption)

Yes you can upgrade from a ONTAP without Volume Encryption (nodar) to one that has Volume Encryption.

Well, sorry to bust your bubble here, the encryption is not supported on the Fas2554 platform

do even if you did upgrade, you would not be able to use it
