ONTAP Commvault SnapProtect (with SnapDiff v3)

Is anyone else suffering from ONTAP 9.10.x upgrades that are breaking Commvault SnapProtect due to the deprecation of SnapDiff v2 API?

NetApp have released a Customer Product Communiqué (CPC) here https://mysupport.netapp.com/info/communications/ECMLP2876788.html

It appears that Commvault 11.28 (latest at writing) does not support SnapDiff v3 so I am looking for what others have done to get around this. NetApp Cloud Backup?

If they didn't know about it, yes, they may be suffering.

Among other things.

You could also check with CommVault if they plan to add SnapDiff v3 support soon. I'm not familiar with their roadmap and even if I was I probably couldn't disclose it.

Create a Commvault case. Their online docs from May/2022 suggests that it will continue to work.

Note: Starting ONTAP 9.10.1, NetApp SnapDiff v1 and v2 are no longer supported. Once you upgrade to NetApp ONTAP >= 9.10.1, the first incremental scan will take longer as a TrueUp operation runs to gather file information. All the subsequent jobs will continue and use a recursive scan to collect file information.
