Upgrade snapmirrorred units

Hello.

I have a couple of boxes with snapmirror (2 SVM) in sync.

I would like to upgrade both of them. I tried to start upgrade on DR unit but it faile because one lif is not at home (and it can't be returned to home) because is the LIF that should be used in disaster event.

I tried to quiesce both snapmirror tasks but the issue is still the same.

Also I tried to put status-admin for the lif on down. But always the same error:

Error: command failed: This operation is not permitted on a Vserver that is configured as the destination for identity preserve Vserver DR.

Any help will be appreciated to fix this issue and proceed with the upgrade,

Not sure if you've had a look at our KB Site for some answers (https://kb.netapp.com). You may have already tried that.

Hello.

I'm sorry but I've been reading several documents and seems that the problem is on LIFs. Some of them are disabled to avoid addressing conflicts on the network with production system but are still configured to improve DR plan execution time. Also seems that SVM have to be started in order to unconfigure the LIFs, and I'm not sure this could impact on snapmirroring process running.

So I'm still lost.

Are there any upgrade focused documentation to proceed with system upgrade?

Could it be b'cos the destination is 'identity preserve Vserver DR'.

The following KB provides steps to change the identity without re-basing, you could try changing the identity-preserve_setting to false, and then may be able to modify the LIFs and perform upgrade?

If unsure, please raise a ticket with NetApp and get it reviewed once.
