    <description>&lt;P&gt;Hello,&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Controller_B boot fail with below error, I check it refer NetApp KB&amp;nbsp;&lt;A href="https://kb.netapp.com/onprem/ontap/hardware/Chassis_FRU_PROM_read_operation_failed" target="_blank"&gt;https://kb.netapp.com/onprem/ontap/hardware/Chassis_FRU_PROM_read_operation_failed.&lt;/A&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;-----------------------------------&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Chassis FRU PROM read operation failed. Replace the system chassis or controller. If necessary, contact support.&lt;BR /&gt;May 29 11:00:29 [NetApp-02:haosc.fru.op.failed:ALERT]: Chassis FRU PROM read operation failed.&lt;BR /&gt;Uptime: 2m36s&lt;BR /&gt;System halting...&lt;BR /&gt;BIOS Version: 11.0.2&lt;BR /&gt;Portions Copyright (C) 2014-2016 NetApp, Inc. All Rights Reserved.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;----------------------------------------&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;The solution "Reseat motherboard of the affected node." and "Upgrade IOM12E firmware to latest version."&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;We try&amp;nbsp;Reseat motherboard of the affected node controller_B but still same problem with same error messages.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;When try manual upgrade IOM12E firmware from alive Controller_A, it cannot upgrade shelf firmware as below error.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;------------------------------------------------&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;storage shelf firmware update -shelf 1.0&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Error: Shelf firmware update request failed on node "NetApp-01". Reason: waiting for cluster partner to respond"&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;------------------------------------------------&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Since controller_B cannot boot up, how can upgrade the shelf firmware?&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Best regards&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;The shelf firmware should be upgraded from the cluster command line interface, when healthy.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;A 7-Mode procedure (&lt;A href="https://mysupport.netapp.com/site/info/disk-shelf#ontap7" target="_blank"&gt;NetApp Support Site - Disk Shelf Installation Instructions&lt;/A&gt;) would be tried but, as mentioned, it is better to open a support case if the system has a valid entitlement.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>
