Yes, you are correct that SCV (SnapCenter Plug-in for VMware vSphere) and SnapCenter are indeed independent products. You don't need SnapCenter for SCV to function properly.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;However, there is a specific scenario where you would need to register SCV with SnapCenter hosts. This is only necessary if you plan to perform application-over-VMDK workflows within SnapCenter.       <description>&lt;P&gt;looks the SCV is independent from SnapCenter. we configured SVM on VMs. will we need snapcenter to make the SCV to work?&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;is there any relationship between SCV and snapCenter?&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Looks not to me, but NetApp document is not make it clear.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;thanks,&lt;/P&gt;</description>
