(1) First, svm disaster recovery does not support synchronization, only supports async-mirror and mirror-vault

(2) Beginning with ONTAP 9.8, you can use System Manager to activate a destination storage VM after a disaster. Activating the destination storage VM makes the SVM destination volumes writable and enables you to serve data to clients.
https://docs.netapp.com/us-en/ontap/data-protection/make-svm-destination-volumes-writeable-task.html

SVM DR

Good day,

With SVM Disaster Recovery I have 2 questions:

1) Is synchronous snapmirror supported?

2) Can you failover a single volume from the SVM or it is only meant in SVM level recovery?

Thanks

Hi

SM sync do not exists in Cmode. you can use MetroCluster (now also over IP) for sync replication

you can only manage the SM relationship as part of the SVM DR. but i think you can do a vol clone or remove the volume from the SVMDR to mount it on another SVM.

G
