vMotion NetApp Select VM with different CPU speed

Hello,

We have a single node NetApp Select NAS on an old Dell FC630 blade server, running an Intel Xeon E5-2667 v4 3.2GHz CPU. We recently purchased some new VMware servers running Intel Xeon Gold 6542Y 2.90GHz. I wanted to vMotion the Select NAS over to the new servers, but it seems to be blocked due to a fixed CPU reservation of 12800MHz, I would need to reduce this to 11600MHz to move the VM.

Is it possible for me to adjust this setting in VMware, or will it cause the VM to fail to boot? I noticed that changing CPU speed is not supported, so I was concerned this is store in some config file within the VM that will make it fail to boot (I assume this is locked due to per core licensing).

I tried contacting support, but they where not very helpful and wouldn't help me move the VM.

Just for kicks, have you tried to shut down the vm, move it to the new resource and turn it back on?
