Believe you are confusing these two features. SnapCenter is being used for taking application aware of Netapp snapshots such as SQL, Oracle database, VMWare VM... you can use SnapCenter to protect these applications and VMs. The snapMirror is a replication feature to move data to a same or different cluster for a second copy.

if you want to use SnapCenter to take application aware snapshots then replicate these snapshots to different locations, you will need to set up snapmirror for this option to work.

According to below link, SnapCenter is not supported on SnapMirror Sync.

https://docs.netapp.com/us-en/ontap/data-protection/snapmirror-synchronous-disaster-recovery-basics-concept.html#

According to below, there is pre-defined SnapMirror policy SnapCenterSync which is supported on SnapMirrorSync.

https://docs.netapp.com/us-en/ontap/data-protection/default-protection-policies-concept.html

I am confused. Does that mean if I use SnapCenterSync will lose RPO=0 ?
Any one can help me on this product compatibility. Thanks so much

Chun Chiang
