It looks like the 2010 version of AutoCAD does not reorder the bits when files are saved. So the problem is likely resolved.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;On a related note, NetApp had recently worked with Siemens PLM Software (PLM/CAD ISV), on deduplication testing. In tests performed using a Teamcenter data repository, we found that 57% of the storage space was recovered using NetApp deduplication.       <title>De-Dupe AutoCAD</title>

      <description>&lt;HTML&gt;&lt;HEAD&gt;&lt;/HEAD&gt;&lt;BODY&gt;&lt;P&gt;Hey Folks,&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I understand that AutoCAD drawings (files) have very poor De-Dupe results. I have been told this is due to the fact that when you file save in the latest versions of AutoCAD the application scrambles and re-writes the entire file. This for obvious reasons murder’s De-Dupe.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I was told some time ago that this can be resolved by a patch from AutoCAD...&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Has anyone looked into this and done it?&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Thanks in advance&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Michael.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>
