I have a bunch of very large NFS volumes I need to run dedup on.

The problem is I must run it during the weekends since when running the dedup, disk utilization is nearing 100% and latency sky rockets during that time.

Unfortunately, it never finishes before monday morning and I'm forced to cancel it.

For some reason, maybe by design, Im unable to pick up where I left a week later and it starts the whole process from the top which bring to me an endless loop where I cannot dedup.

Any idea what I can do?

Thanks

TL;DR;

dedup creates high disk latency

must stop on weekdays

does not resume on following weekend.
