Is ONTAP Edge can be installed and supported on the free VMware vSphere Hypervisor edition 5?

The Data ONTAP Edge Eval version requires a vCenter server for deployment, so it won't work with the standalone hypervisor edition.

The full Data ONTAP Edge product, however, can be installed on a standalone ESXi server using dvadmin. However, the free license (and Standard vCenter license) lacks the ability to connect to the VM console using dvadmin. Only Enterprise and Enterprise Plus licenses are supported for Data ONTAP Edge. The free edition may work, appear to work at first (with the lack of console support), but we can't say for sure it will run well.
