Is it possible to use snaprestore to restore a volume from one host to another or does it have to be the same host?

I suspect that I will have to copy the volumes and active filesystem to the new host location before a snaprestore can be done.

What is the best method of copying these volumes from one host to another? ndmpcopy? We do not have any snapmirror license so that wont work.

snap restore always restores data into the same volume.

If you do not need to preserve snapshot history, ndmpcopy is fine. Otherwise you could vol copy (which copies everything including snapshots) and then do snap restore on destination.
