minimum number of drives required for the E2800.

What is the minimum number of drives required for the E2800? RAID creation is not assumed.

The reason for this question is that when four HDD drives are installed, the following warning is recorded every 24 hours.

Two to three drives is generally the minimum for capacity and redundancy purposes.

You may verify that all these drives are healthy in UI, or in eos shell using vdmShowDriveList.

When 5 drives are installed, the following message is output, and no more warning messages are output.
[Autocode synchronization drive image write started]
[Autocode synchronization drive image write completed]
Therefore, I think 5 drives is the minimum number, but this is just my speculation.

Customer would like to install 3 drives, but based on the above, I cannot say YES.

I don't think there's any problem with each HDD drive.

This is only an issue with dual controllers.
In this state, a dual-head swap (replacement of a dual controller) is not possible because there are no DACStore ACS (AutoCode Sync) images and there is not enough free space in the available DACStore.

Considering this, the minimum number of drives is 5.

However, if even one drive is missing, the controller cannot be replaced, so we recommend that you have a sufficient number of drives.

Conclusion:
For dual controllers you need at least 5 drives.
We're constrained to relatively small regions per drive, so it takes several drives to accommodate the entire set of images required for ACS purposes.
