e-series controller conversion to a disk shelf

Good evening my NetApp Community!!

I did a bit of hunting, but didnt find any legit documentation on the subject which makes be believe that maybe its not a support solution.

I want to take two e-series 5660 systems, convert the controller shelf to a standard shelf and add it to a e-series 5660 system as just a simple expansion shelf.

Data aside, is this a supported conversion?

This is something you can do, but I would suggest you contact support to walk you through the steps and any gotchas that can occur. Mitch
