Mini SAS adapter change

I bought a disk shelf that uses a Mini SAS adapter.

My controller uses a SAS adapter.

Is it advisable for me to change the adapters on the disk shelf or controllers or do I have to change the whole disk shelf to a l compatible one with the Controller?

you can buy a QSFP (SAS) to Mini SAS HD to connect the new IOM 12 Shelfs to your IOM6 System..
