Hello Community,

we have a FAS 2552 (double controller) which was in production use until last year. Then it was turned off and the collegue who managed the device retired. Meanwhile some disks has been removed. Now we thougt for reuse in our evaluation environment and after turning on, it end in a panic/bootloop. So we need to wipe and reinstall the ontap software (8.2.4P4 7-Mode). After reading some manuals, they say to download the system setup tool from Netapp Website, but this tool seems no longer be available. Ok, we made the first setup in console. But now we are looking for the managing software (Oncommand system manager) but this seems also no more available. So what tool is actually possible to manage our device with a gui? Thanks for any hints.

Greets

Michael

Hi there!

The GUI system manager for 7-mode was flash and java based, and so doesn't really work on modern systems. It is no longer available due to security risks that may be or are present in unmaintained software.
