Controller upgrade 3040HA to 3220HA

I have a requirement to upgrade controllers from a 3040HA to a 3220HA.

Whilst upgrade advisor details how to initially upgrade OnTap on the 3040 ready for a supported version on the 3220 I cannot find any documentation on how to actually remove the 3040 controllers and add the 3220's.

Does anyone know how I can find resources detailing this or have any knowledge around the process?
