FAS8020 - NDMP over LAN Backups using Backup Exec 2012

Below a high level diagram of a FAS8020 and how the ports are used and to what they are connected.

The PCI slots are taken by:

- Flash cache

- SAS card

I would like to backup to disk using Backup Exec 2012 NDMP over lan.

Backup from FAS to backup server using Ethernet then NDMP to Tape Lib.

I am almost certain it was possible to do so in 2010/11 but cannot validate anywhere if it is still possible with 2012.

Any insight/help on this would be greatly appreciated

Scrap this! I just came to me that FAS8020 requires ONTAP 8.2.1+, so technically speaking, as per the aforementioned document, this isn't supported at all (presumably it is going to change though & I bet it works anyway)

I am sure it would work anyway as well but thanks for pointing out that it has only been tested on Data Ontap 8.2 by Symantec at the moment.

FAS8020 indeed requires minimum 8.2.1 RC2. (http://www.netapp.com/us/products/storage-systems/fas8000/fas8000-tech-specs.aspx)

So no go for now
