I don't know what a NAF-1201 is...

Open a technical case with NetApp Support.

NAF-1201 is a weird number we have on the chassis - it's a FAS2220. Password reset is in the boot menu - option 3:

(1) Normal Boot.
(2) Boot without /etc/rc.
(3) Change password.
(4) Clean configuration and initialize all disks.
(5) Maintenance mode boot.
(6) Update flash from backup config.
(7) Install new software first.
(8) Reboot node.
Selection (1-8)?

But it sounds like you might have hit the LOADER - if the system is sitting at the LOADER A> (or B) prompt, type "boot_ontap", then when it gives an option to press Control-C, do so and you will get the above menu which will let you reset the password.

It works!

It's necessary to type "boot_ontap" in boot menu then you are able to see menu with option to reset password.

Thank you 🙂

No problem!

If there system is sitting at the LOADER prompt, there are a couple of reasons why:

If the power has just been turned on, if AUTOBOOT (printenv AUTOBOOT) is off/false, it will wait at the LOADER prompt until the "boot_ontap" command is issued, otherwise it will boot ONTAP automatically

If there is a problem booting ONTAP automatically, it will return to the LOADER prompt

If the system has been halt'ed from inside ONTAP, it will wait at the LOADER prompt until the "boot_ontap" command is issued
