We have new AFF A200 attached to our Cisco 6248 Fabric Interconnect and I can not get a link between the two.

I've swapped out the modules and cables more than once to elminate the physical connection.

I've configured both sides of FC and matched the speed.

I must be missing something inbetween that I can't figure out.

I'm used the OnTap SAN conifguraiton document for the commands to conifgure the SAN side.

This is the setting/config for one of the connections SAN side:

Thank you for reaching NetApp community.

Could you confirm SFP at the switch side and NetApp side are of the same speed ? This could happen due speed difference between SFP's

Thanks,

The NetApp SFPs are 16gb and the Fabric Interconnect at 8gb, I've set the speed on the NetApp side for 8gb.

Should the SFPs be 8gb native instead of setting the speed possibly?

That SFP part number from the output of your display - "AFBR-709SMZ-NA2" is a 10Gbe SFP - confirm you're trying to use FCoE and not FC. For FC, you'll need a 16GB FC SFP and an FC capable switch - I don't think the Cisco FI is capable of native FC - you'd need a converged switch that can support FC, I believe. You should be able to do FCoE with that SFP.

Ahh, those sound like the modules from the previous gear pulled out of that rack. I bet they got mixed up in the intial trouble shooting.

Thanks, I probably wouldn't have seen that detail for another day with a second set of eyes. I'm going to make sure the correct SFPs are on each end and see what I get.
