At the same time, also note that even for faulty adapter replacement HA failover needs to be done and once replacement is successful then give back need to be performed..!!!

Do Controller failover if one controller loses access to Disks?

Hi,

imagine 2 Controller in HA-mode, each Controller has an SAS adapter card with two ports and a connection to both IOM12s of a disk shelf. The disks of the shelf are owned by controller 1. If SAS adapter card in controller 1 fails, controller 1 can not see the shelf and disks anymore. Do the SVMs failover to controller 2?

I know its best practice to use 2 adapter cards per controller to remove the adapter card single-point-of-failure, but I want to know what would happen?

Yes. Assuming that controller 2 is also connected to that shelf and HA is properly configured
