    <description>&lt;HTML&gt;&lt;HEAD&gt;&lt;/HEAD&gt;&lt;BODY&gt;&lt;P&gt;Hi,&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;What LUN type should be selected when creating a LUN for w2k12 with Hyper-V role enabled,&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I read that starting from DOT 8.1.1 windows 2012 is supported and LUN type should be Windows_2008 , will it be the same case if hyper-v role is enabled and the LUN is intended to be used for VHD(X)?&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;DOT 8.1.1 Documentations state the below , "nothing mentioned for win2012 in (hyper_v)&amp;nbsp; type"&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;DL&gt;&lt;DT class="dlterm" style="font-weight: bold; margin-top: 1em; color: #000000; font-family: Arial, Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;"&gt;windows_2008&lt;/DT&gt;&lt;DD style="color: #000000; font-family: Arial, Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;"&gt;Use if your host operating system is Windows Server 2008 or Windows Server 2012; both MBR and GPT partitioning methods are supported.&lt;/DD&gt;&lt;DD style="color: #000000; font-family: Arial, Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;"&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;/DD&gt;&lt;DD style="color: #000000; font-family: Arial, Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;"&gt;&lt;/DD&gt;&lt;DT class="dlterm" style="font-weight: bold; margin-top: 1em; color: #000000; font-family: Arial, Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;"&gt;hyper_v&lt;/DT&gt;&lt;DD style="color: #000000; font-family: Arial, Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;"&gt;Use if you are using Windows Server 2008 Hyper-V and your LUNs contain virtual hard disks (VHDs).&lt;/DD&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;/DL&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>
