Thanks for your reply, I was desperate to wait for an answer 😉

I used this file here: ONTAPdeploy2.9_nodar.ova

>• Only one ONTAP Select VM can reside on a single server.

I managed to start only one virtual machine, so this condition is met.

>As per the screenshot i see you have a vmkernel port on the same vlan ( i believe this only for testing), have you tested the connectivity ?

Yes, v-lan is the same, there is no error in this.
vmkernel adapter is working without problems.

Hello!

Background:

I have 4 servers with esxi 6.5

Inside there are two "vswitchs" created, standard for SAN (10 gigabits/sec) and distributied switch for network io (1 gigabits/sec).

Inside each server, there are 8 ssd disks on which a file system of VFS version 6 is created, and besides, there are three datasters connected by iscsi (ds-1, ds-2, ds-3).

Problems:

1. When I try to deploy a cluster, the system does not detect the standard switch and its adapter, only the distributed switch! Therefore, I cannot specify a high-speed interface for data exchange between nodes.
2. The system does not detect local datastores of ssd disks, only connected by iscsi.
I will accept any help.

Hi,

What version of Select are you using ? and the deploy tool version ?

I understand you are using a evaluation version, Here is a quick start guide for single node evaluation version

https://library.netapp.com/ecm/ecm_download_file/ECMLP2569956

There could be several reason for local storage not showing up, when using locally attached
storage (DAS), certain restrictions apply to the ONTAP Select VM, specifically:
• Only one ONTAP Select VM can reside on a single server.

Verify the requirements as page 15 are met for using local storage.

https://www.netapp.com/us/media/tr-4517.pdf

For the vswitch issue, refer to this Host Configuration prepration check list , Page 24,

https://library.netapp.com/ecm/ecm_download_file/ECMLP2570999

As per the screenshot i see you have a vmkernel port on the same vlan ( i believe this only for testing), have you tested the connectivity ?

This seems to more of networking issue, could be that vlan tagging or the network range is different.

remove the kernel port from the standard switch and try it again.

And for the local disks, have you created the raid group ?

When you say "there are 8 ssd disks on which a file system of VFS version 6 is created", do you mean VMFS 6 ?

I would suggested to go over the docs I shared earlier, which give more information about how the local disks should be used.

There are few Videos avaliable for Select deployment, may be you wana try them.
