Netapp Certification

Hi All,

I am new to the NetApp community and i planned to write exam. Can you please advise which certification is good and entry level for the storage.

I am working as a Unix administrator for 4 yrs. Please advise which will suit and entry for netapp storage?

Greetings, The certification I would recommend to get familiar with storage is the NetApp Certified Storage Associate. The learning path provides knowledge and hands on experience for performing basic administration of both Data 7-Mode and clustered Data ONTAP. Correct. That is the exam.

After that, you can work your way up the chart. What FAS system are you administering? What OS version are you running, 7-Mode or Clustered Data ONTAP? You can get the next certification for the OS and finally NCIE for either backup\DR or SAN technologies if you're running FC\iSCSI\FCoE.

So, It is possible to take exam NS0-155 or NS0-156 directly ?

Yes, you can take the NCDA 155 and\or 156 directly. There is no requirement to get the NCSA (145) first.

Balaji,

You can take either one of those. You will have to look at the requirements and decided which one you're prepared for.

What is diff between these three certifications?

NS0-145

NCDA 155

NCDA 156

NS0-145 exam is for NetApp Certified Storage Associate (NCSA)

NS0-155 exam is for NetApp Certified Data Management Administrator (NCDA) 7Mode

NS0-156 exam is for NetApp Certified Data Management Administrator (NCDA) Cluster Mode

Hi, fyi you can find plenty of great NetApp videos on YouTube that will help if you don't have access to formal NetApp classes. Also, I highly recommend setting up a NetApp Simulator environment in VMware to get hands on experience and learn the product before attempting any of the certification exams.

ncda is best for you. If you have experience in networking and linux administration.
