At a guess I would say that ONTAP cannot map the NT user to a unix one and is therefore mapping to the default of pcuser (controlled by wafl.default_unix_user)

Pcuser probably only has read and execute rights and not write. You could chmod the directories to allow write acces as bit of a fudge.

Check out this (http://now.netapp.com/NOW/knowledge/docs/ontap/rel80/html/ontap/filesag/GUID-E554A81C-0A34-49F4-B7F3-E46D187938D4.html) on how to map a CIFS user to a unix one.

Regards,

Warren

Hi,

I created a cifs share and nfs export with the same name. Added the users I wanted to have access to both the nfs export and the cifs share.

The cifs user can map to the share, but gets “access denied” message when trying to put some files into the share..

Is there a certain file or something I have to change to get this user to have access to write to the share?

she has read/write access on the cifs share, just cant write to the share....

My options wafl.default_security_style is set to unix

Thanks!
