If you're trying to change the attribute from an nfs mount on the filer then I don't think this will work.&amp;nbsp; I tried digging around to see if there were any known issues around this and couldn't find anything.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;HTML&gt;&lt;HEAD&gt;&lt;/HEAD&gt;&lt;BODY&gt;&lt;P&gt;Do the netapp filers support chattr attributes?&amp;nbsp; I'm wanting to make a file (.bash_history) append only.&amp;nbsp; When I attempt to use the chattr command I get the following error (Redhat 5).&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;chattr: Inappropriate ioctl for device while reading flags on .bash_history&lt;/P&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>
