Just in case.....are you already using jumbo frames? As I understand it, CPU utilization when it comes to network traffic is driven by the # of interrupts....which using jumbo frames helps reduce.

If a FAS system has a high utilization on the network domain using (4) 1 GigE lanes bundled on FAS6080s, would putting that traffic on (1) 10GigE lane reduce the load on the network domain? If so, how much, and is there a study or report done on this?

This system is used primarily for NFS, and all of the NFS best practices recommended has been implemented at the host and FAS side. The file sizes are over 200KB and the network domain seems to be running hot.
