topic Slow NFS Performance in Network and Storage Protocols

I'm new to NetApp systems and have a user who is trying to access an NFS share via a VPN. He says that he can ssh into the share just fine, but when he tries to access them via Finder on his Mac he can only access top level folders. If he tries to access lower level folders then it hangs and eventually disconnects his connection ot the share. This only happens when he's connected via his VPN, and when his connection to the share is ended it does not affect his VPN connection. Is there a timeout that can be adjusted (as I think that it's just a speed issue)?

I would check your MTU settings on your NFS lifs, make sure you aren't using jumbo frames that could be getting fragmented accross the VPN.
