We have a Dell PowerEdge 1850 with a Xeon 2.8Mhz processor, Win2k3 Standard Edition SP2, 2GB RAM, 100Mbps network connections managing 30 NetApp filers (mostly FAS270,3020,3070). We upgraded to DFM Operations Manager 3.7 and we have performance advisor turned on. We started having local HD space issues, which I solved by turning on folder compression on the perf folder, which took the data on disk for that folder down by 90%.

I have begun to start seeing mgmt station load too high messages once a month after adding the last 4 filers.

I was wondering if anyone is managing more than 30 filers on a DFM server and what the specs of their setup are or if anyone has any suggestions for changes to my current setup.

Thanks in advance, I think this discussion can help many NetApp customers.
