VMware & NetApp Virtual Storage Console integration

IHAC who would like to provision new virtual machines on the VMware ESX 5.1 platform through WFA. I see a number of references to using a virtual platform for WFA but am looking to see if anyone has written any commands or invoked any scripts that could perform the whole process, leveraging VMware Templates, passing variables like the name of the virtual machine. Has anyone done this? If so, please share examples.

Hi Dave,

Integrating VMware (or any hypervisor) with WFA is very possible. It depends on a few factors, the main one being the commands the WFA workflows will leverage. A couple of points:

There are some WFA 1.x VMware workflows you can find in The Pirate Pack for VMWARE v1.0 - Vfiler and Array Provisioning and Management for VMWARE ESX. One workflow will leverage the VMware PowerCLI (in WFA commands). Another workflow will leverage NetApp's Virtual Storage Console (VSC).
Likely your workflows / your cusotmer's workflows will be slightly different.
