topic CX4 CLARiiON Datasources failing with "Failed to parse host alias info" in Active IQ Unified Manager Discussions

CX4s running 29 FLARE may be undiscoverable with SANscreen because they are incapable of successfully returning a full "getall" navi*cli output to SANscreen. If your CX4 datasource is failing with "Failed to parse host alias info", this is what you are experiencing. Once this problem starts, it is 100% consistent.

Our current understanding is that you need to have EMC resolve this, and there is not an end user procedure to resolve this. See EMC KB emc235848 , as the command cited in that KB also consistently fail as well. There is apparently a procedure to delete and re-add initators to a CX4.

EMC has posted another related KB emc241018 on this topic that might be worth a look - there is a procedure documented on remediating hosts whose initiators do not appear in Connectivity Status in Navisphere.
