OCUM 5.1 vs 5.2.R1 New Features

Hi All,

First post.

I'm looking to install OnCommand Unified Manager 5.2R1 in our environment, as it is the only version available for download now. I've had a quick look at the release notes for the 5.2R1 for 7-mode. We have some old 2040a's running DoT 8.0.3 and haven't seen that there are any new features with this release, only bug fixes and and a security related patching. eg. "Important: This release addresses a vulnerability in the OpenSSL library when using heartbeat extensions during TLS session establishment."

Anyone know of any major differences between the 5.1 and 5.2R1? There wasn't a page like those below for the 5.2 release:

Oh, just found some info. But yeah I guess nothing major for someone running DoT 8.0.3 on 2040s. :

New Features and Enhancements

OnCommand Unified Manager Core Package 5.2R1 continues to support the following new features and enhancements, and bug fixes introduced in OnCommand Unified Manager Core Package 5.2:

Support for new licensing infrastructure in Data ONTAP 8.2
Validation of the DataFabric Manager server database to check if the database is corrupt
Identifying aggregates as Flash Pool enabled
Data Collector tool to collect diagnostic data for debugging
Support for Apache 2.4.4
Support for Sybase server 11.0.1
Support for OpenSSL 1.0.1e

The changes in OCUM 5.2R1 release are as follows:

Removal of 32-bit installer : You can install OnCommand Unified Manager Core Package 5.2R1 on 64-bit servers only.

Performance enhancement : The upgrade operation cleans the DataFabric Manager server database by removing the storage objects that are marked-deleted in the database and the

associated entries in the history tables. By removing events older than 180 days from the day of installation or upgrade, or as specified in the eventsPurgeInterval

Cleaning the marked-deleted objects improves the performance of the DataFabric Manager server database.

End of support : The Business Continuance License has reached end of support. For more information, see the communication at the NetApp Support Site.

Data transfer reports are disabled The data transfer reports are disabled by default on a newly installed DataFabric Manager server. The option can be turned on manually.

CPU monitoring is disabled : CPU monitoring is disabled by default on a newly installed DataFabric Manager server. The CPU Usage (%) graph data is not available.

CPU monitoring is also disabled by default if you have upgraded to OnCommand Unified Manager Core Package 5.2R1. The data in the CPU Usage (%) graph expires over a period of time.
