Application annotation blanks out after a vmotion.

Hi All.

I got a question.

we have set up an annotation on a our vm:s( ESX).

But those annotations blanks out aftter we have done a vmotion on tha vm.

We are running 7.2.1 , but are thinking of moving up to 7.3.

Is this Feature sorted in 7.3 or should i look elswere to solve the issue?

Sorry for the delay.

What type of vMotion is occurring here?

I believe the internal key for a VM is a combination of vSphere's VM id and the IP address of the vSphere server. So, from poll to poll, neither of those elements should change.

If the VM is moving from one vSphere to another, then yes, certainly internally OCI is seeing that VM effectively go away, and then come back into OCI.

Hi .

Sorry for the late reply, all the vmotion is done in the same vcenter server.

But the customer is runing DRM(distrebuted resource management), i dont know if that has to do wth anyting.

I cant finde any thing in the logs either.

whats the best way of solving this:

1. open a case?

2. upgrade to 7.3(from 7.2.1)
