Hi,

If you look at the WMI error code (-2147024891) in your logs it suggests that the user security context used to invoke the WMI query does not have access to the remote server.

I'd assume the reason for the errors is the credentials you have provided to the application for collecting the logs doesn't have access to the remote host.

Did you check that the account has administrative permissions on the remote host?

Thanks. Not sure where to start. Got the same error using:

.\administrator

domain\user (a domain admin)

Maybe a service or something? we verified the firewall was off and not impeding (both the source and destination)

any ideas where to look/fix?

I'm assuming the following systems are windows based operating systems?

If so did you check the account that you are using to run the application is a member of the local administrators group? (Should be by default if you are using a domain admin account)

all windows 2008 or higher.

both accoutns are able to RDP into the box. unable to use WMI.

Hi,

I would assume that some type of security hardening has been applied to those servers.

I'd try "comparing" the WMI DCOM security settings between a system of the same OS that works and one that doesn't to determine the difference

If the configuration has been restricted then I'd be asking the server\application owner if the WMI security settings are required by the application running on the system.

You might also try the connecting remotely using powershell using same credentials as the application you are using to collect the logs. If you recieve the same error then try using different credentials of an administrator account on the remote system.
