Is it possible with an OCUM VM appliance to get to DFM CLI and enter commands like below?

# dfm alert create -h "Volume Space Full","Volume Space Nearly Full" -r TESTVOLUME -E test@test.com test_alert_name

Are there any other ways to create alerts from the CLI like we could do in legacy DFM instances?

-Archie

Per the docs:

Note: CLI commands are available when Unified Manager is installed on Red Hat Enterprise Linux or on Windows.

I can successfully get to the CLI on the VM appliance and run um and dfm command..

However, VM or RHEL machine; it appears there are no CLI commands to create an alert.

-Archie

Hi,

Alert scripting via CLI is not supported. But you can configure alert script via UI and utilize the 'um cli' commands in the script.

-KJag

sorry - i can't imagine how to get alerts automatically created via scripting in UM - as fas as i see in the documentation you can manager your custom scripts via "Manage Scripts" in your UM settings page - but these are only used if you define them in an already created or newly create an alert via GUI.

also the commands for um are very less you may use - in the manage scripts page you may use the questionmark button to show the help where you can find a section "Supported Unified Manager CLI commands" - and as you see there are not many of them and nothing about creating alerts via script.

so in your case it obviously looks like that there's no change to achieve the result you asking for.

sorry - eventually someone else has an idea on that.

AJ
