Hi,

I am not sure if it will solve the issue by installing OCUM6.X, maybe someone else can answer that.

But if OCUM6.X does have acquire Quota objects, you can create your own dictionary entry, filters etc. to use them in WFA.

You may have to check with the OCUM team once.

You cannot add a cluster directly as a datasource in WFA as of now. But it could be a possible option in the future. Querying the cluster is basically avoided because we do not want to overload the cluster, with too many products like system manager, protection manager, operations manager communicating with it.

-Anil

WFA team,

I have a customer that is running OnCommand 5.2 and WFA 2.0 against 8.2 Clusters. We have workflows that can manage volume/qtree quotas (set limits, turn quotas on/off, assign quota policies) but it appears that there is no way to filter on existing quota policies in the WFA cache. Upon investigation it appears that OnCommand 5.2 does not store any information about quota policies - which explains why no filters exist.

If the customer installs OCUM 6.X in their environment - will it solve the issue? Upgrading to WFA 2.1 is out of the question in the near term - so is there a way to get custom dictionary, schema, and filters to allow us to see quota objects in WFA 2.0 against OCUM 6.X?

Alternatively - can't we create a custom schema, dictionary, and filter to query directly against the cluster for existing quota policies and information? Has anyone done that?

Attaching an example of acquiring Data directly from the Cluster and then filters to query that Data. ( Credit to Dhruv V Doshi for the script)

This acquires Vserver comment field from Cluster ( which isn't monitored by OCUM) into WFA Database. A simple workflow as well.

sinhaa
