We followed Appendix B inTR-3761- http://media.netapp.com/documents/tr-3761.pdf

BUT - When creating a new policy, the protection policy options are greyed out.

We are obviously missing something here...any suggestions?

Unable to list the protection policies for the following reasons
SMO-01602: Protection Manager product is not installed or snapdrive is not configured to use it.
Please install protection manager and/or configure snapdrive

what's the error? And is it coming from dfm or smo? Could it be a resource issue for that policy?

-Mark

There are no errors that we're aware of. The issue is during policy creation, the protection manager options are greyed out.

I am very interested in understanding the architecture of the pieces (how do the SMO server and Protection Manager server know about each other)?
