Nested initiator groups

Nello,

NetApp newbie here. Coming from EMC world of storage.

Using OnCommand.

I am looking for the way to create a nested initiator groups that consist of igroups of individual server. Dozen or so ESX servers need access to the same set of LUNs. For admins familiar with VMAX: would like to create parent-children relationship where LUN gets assigned to a parent and all children get access to it.

Any recommendation?

Hi Rada,

In ONTAP an initiator group can only contain initiators. We do not have the concept of nesting.

You'll want to create a single igroup that contains all hosts for shared LUNs and then host specific igroups for non-shared.
